I've known about this place for a few years now, but haven't been there too often only cause it was slightly out of the way for me, but we recently discovered that they deliver to my boyfriend's house. I was pretty excited since their KBBQ pizza is such a guilty pleasure of mine haha. I don't know what it is about that particular pizza, but I find it really tasty. Once it's in front of me, I can't stop eating it. I've never ordered anything but the KBBQ pizza, but I can attest to the fact that it's a small business (which I totally support) and their crust is nice and doughy, not cardboard with toppings on it (something else I also support). Also, my boyfriend says that the owner seems very nice. Just throwing that out there. Anyways, if you happen to be in the area, check this place out :)

I was in the area looking for a quick lunch and I decided try it out. They have cheap combos but it was not filling enough for me. The wait seemed long for a slice and a salad. At least the pizza was delicious!

    - Locale Destination - It's on S Diamond Bar Blvd and Sugarpine Pl in Diamond Bar. It's in a big shopping center, right by "Tea Rush". It's very small but has some seating inside. Decor is simple, a little outdated, small pop & mom type place. No NBA game

Great pizza the Supreme is nicely done. And the Mr.G's special sandwich is the bomb.

This place always satisfies my pizza and pasta cravings. It's owned by a lovely married couple who are always very nice and welcoming. The pizza is great, especially for the price. I will come back soon. I highly recommend this place to anybody in the area!

  • Nick S.

I work very close to this place, so I'm glad there's a small shop that prepares pizza traditionally. Recently I've been grabbing the Torpedo sandwich, but everything I've had here has been phenomenal. Mr. G always makes sure everybody is happy with their order, and my meal always comes out exactly how I wanted it. They also have some different options like the Korean bbq pizza to keep things interesting, but the authentic pizza is definitely the star attraction.

Great pizza, wings, !!!!!. friendly owners, Freshly made pizza, what else do you need. Best neighborhood pizza place in diamond bar!

Great place to stop for a quick bite to eat or to fill your pizza craving. Mr. G pizza has a home taste to their pies. You can order from the Pizza Hut, Domino's or Papa Johns down the street but they don't taste like Mr. G. Great Place!

  • David C.

Korean Pizza here is very gimmicky. Sounds great but it didn't deliver! The crust is good but there's room for improvement. The spaghetti and meatballs was good though. I saw them rolling out the meatballs. So it ain't none of that frozen stuff. The owner is very accomodating with your requests on how you want your pie. I can appreciate any business owner that aims to please their customers! I'll be sure to try something else next time I'm in Diamond Bar.

My dad (who is from NYC) recommended this place for dinner. We were jonzing for pizza after spending a week in Tokyo and I must say it definitely hit the spot! We ordered a combo thin crust pizza and caesar salad. The large was enough to feed 3 people and the salad tasted fresh. Service was friendly and spot on. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Great pizza, great people. "Mr G" used to be my soccer coach, so when I heard he was the owner, I had to try it. Its a small place, but gives it a home cooking feel, the owners are great people, always kind and happy. If your skeptical about the garlic knots, do it... They are amazing.

  • Kanghwan W.

I order the zylstra whenever I come. The name is one of the teachers at diamond bar high, who apparently is a regular and came up with the combo. Says something about the place. They got good chewy dough, good even sauce, making an overall a unique taste. I love it here! (Was not a fan of their bulgogi pizza).

  • Ella P.

I came here last night and ordered 2 pizzas and I thought they were better tasting than Dominos and round table the crust was yummy and the service was good had my pizza in less than 15 mins. I will be coming back to try their other stuff like the sandwiches and pasta. Overall a good expierence.

MrGs in diamond bar is one of the best neighborhood pizzerias in Diamond. They have great food and wonderful service. I recommend the bake ziti and Alfredo with chicken.

Really good pizza for a reasonable price!! The staff is nice and the owner is awesome. They utilize mobile applications, and square for their form of payment. The place even has pay in the mobile app. If I could I would eat here every day LOL! Definitely check this place out. Pepperoni and sausage is my jam!!

  • Geovanna V.

I love this place ! Sam the owner is really sweet ! He always greets my family and takes the time to say hello and to ask how everything taste ! We usually order a large pepperoni pizza , a Cesar salad, buffalo wings, spicy cheese bread and a two liter of coke . All for a good price ! I love this place !!! The food is delicious !!!!

This is pretty much off my small supreme pizza I ordered. Yes. Very good! Fresh, thin, and delicious! I'll be tying more menu items soon! Yum!

Really good, fresh pizza. Even got to meet Mr. we will be back for sure! Oh and don't forget to "pin" your location on the area map-so fun!

We have lived in Diamond Bar for many years but never made it to Mr G's. I'm so glad we did today. We were getting our car washed and decided to walk over for lunch while it was being cleaned. The pizza was really good and the service was perfect. This is a mom and pop establishment and pride of ownership shows. You can order on line and they deliver so we will definitely order from here soon!

  • Michelle T.

More like a 3.5. Good food for good prices. I had the chicken parm to go. It was a huge portion for around 7 bucks. The service was friendly and quick. We had a huge order for lots of different people and they got it prepared speedily. Great casual place for take out.

I love coming here to eat during my lunch break, and the salads are to die for. Not to mention the owners are so friendly definitely recommend this place:)

    (5)
  • KJ Y.

Food is ok. But they are really short on staff. If you come during lunch hour.. you'll have a nice long wait here. Got a small 1 topping pizza and an order of bread stick.. waited over half an hour..

    (2)
  • Tony B.

Very good pizza. I had the barbecue chicken pizza and added pineapple with extra chicken, cooked well done.. And they accept plastic!

    (5)
  • Kristie B.

Good pizza with great service. It's a friendly environment. It can get hot inside the restaurant, however, there's tables outside. They'll come outside and serve your food. I think there's a discount if you order ahead of time online.

    (4)
  • Jo C.

Their service is 5 stars for me!!! The owner is really funny and nice & makes sure my food is well prepared!! I got a salad, kinda pricey for just lettuce & chicken but its good

  • Jordyn G.

My husband and I use to love Mr. G's and even drove out of our way (about 15 miles away from our home) to get the pizza. The service was never good, but the pizza made up for it. We had the pizza tonight, and it was nothing like it used to be :(. I think they may be under new ownership, and if so, please go back to the way the pizza was in the past. The new pizza is definitely lacking. I can no longer recommend them, and I definitely will not be going out of my way to eat the mediocre pizza :( luckily, Two Saucy Broads Pizza in Fullerton is delicious and closer to home. We now go there when we want delicious thin crust pizza!!! If you are in Fullerton, try it out!!!

  • Patty L.

Small place, easy in and out pizza place. I usually support mom and pop shops, but this one, I can't make myself a patron here. I ordered the spaghetti with marinara sauce and a small cheese pizza. The spaghetti with marinara sauce came with a block of garlic bread. The verdict: All of the food tasted like microwaved food. I kid you not! The pasta was bland, and the noodle was not cooked thoroughly. Blehhhhhh. The garlic bread was pretty terrible. I think I can make better pasta using store made sauce. The pizza, ok the pizza was not too bad, but definitely looked microwaved. You can still eat here, just don't order the spaghetti. I was pretty sad after eating here.

  • Jenn S.

I was craving a slice of cheese pizza in an unfamiliar area so I stopped by based on the Yelp reviews. The pizza was good and satisfied my craving. The man working behind the counter was friendly but the woman was starring me down. Either she's a very unhappy person or that's just her default facial expression.

  • Marie G.

My son really wanted pizza and it sounded good to me too. We were in the area so I decided to stop by and try it. It was a hit! let's just say we will be coming back and I will be telling all my family and friends about mr.gs pizza

  • Victor G.

Ordered the cheesy bread, a supreme pizza (the one that comes with all toppings) and the so called bucket of wings ("bull shit" that aint no bucket! More like a thimble"). So I try the cheese bread and the sauce it came with, man was that sauce watered down, it was flavorless actually it was quite terribly bland! I cried in fear that my pizza would be the same, so I slowly take a bite and there it was a mouth full of sucky ass pizza I mean "This sucked big donkey nuts bland" (actually donkey nuts done right are quite tasty but don't take my word for it) so I thought to myself what Mother Clucker waters down their pizza sauce and thinks he's going to get away with it? Needless to say my taste buds were outraged and my pocket book violated! Let me tell you something about business or at least what I expect from a business 1. Offer a unique product (great tasting pizza) so that It's not something someone else can duplicate 2. Charge a fair price 3. And this one is a big one, don't ever try to cut corners or cheat your customers because you will be put on blast. its quite simple, good food, fair price; great customer service equals a very successful business. I doubt I will be back but I wish you good luck. Oh yeah the chicken wings were not bad at all.

    (2)
  • Jenna L.

POOR EXCUSE FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE How are you going to justify the fact you get our order wrong by BLAMING OTHERS? I don't care if it was too loud, YOU REPEAT THE ORDER BACK TO MAKE SURE IT'S CORRECT. and also, you don't tell the customer that you had six tickets before ours because YOU ARE A RESTAURANT, YOU EXPECT THAT! Don't go into the restaurant business if you can't even handle SIX MEASLY TICKETS. Not coming back here. You guys suck now.

I know the owner of this joint. Great taste and flavors. Sam you doing a great job, keep it up! Fresh ingredients, and you get what you pay for. Good sized portions. I can't wait until the next round of pizza's coming out.

this review is mostly on the service and attitude food: -pizza is good enough cons: -service I dont know if the lady(owner?) loves what she does or not. Every time i asked for something (which was like twice) she would roll her eyes so far back I thought she was going to fall off her chair. didnt even bother to get up when i came in, waited for me to approach, asked me what i wanted, and took my money. I was in kind of a hurry so i asked how long it would take for the two slices she replied with, "i dont know like five minutes... why?" i said i was in a hurry and just wanted to know if i should try the food or come back next time. it took about ten minutes btw. TWO STARS- poor service. dont roll your eyes at the customer. hate what you do? quit.

Me and my family ordered the Korean BBQ pizza, the Mr. G's sampler, and the spaghetti. Before I get further into the food, I would like to say that the service was very friendly and that in it self gives the spot a 5 star rating. Now for the food, the pizza crust dough was light and was not too thin or too thick with great flavor. As for the Korean BBQ toppings, really delicious. I could be wrong, but the meat tasted like good quality meat. I'm up in the air about which Korean BBQ is better, Lover Letter or Mr. G's, but Mr. G's is most definitely a contender. The sampler was good as well, with your basic breaded and fried zucchini, cheese and chicken wings. Lastly, you can't go wrong with the spaghetti. Overall experience was excellent and I'm definitely going back!

  • T M.

Service was great from owner, pizza was good with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. Great for take out but dine-in not so much as the dining area is quite small. Will probably go again if I don't feel like doing the drive to Costco for $10 pizza

    (4)
  • Eddie G.

Stopped by with wife by accident and ordered a pizza not knowing how great a treat I was in store for. The dough is made fresh daily so it does not taste like the big chain stores. I can't wait to go back!!!!

Great Pizza! Love the garlic butter on the crust!

    (4)
  • Chuck B.

I love their cheese calzones! I've been going here for 4+ years. Never seems to fail me! Pizza is delicious also. Fresh toppings and good quality cheese. When they answer the phone for carryout orders, they kind of act non professional.

  • Cate C.

My friend and I were inquiring about the menu. In particularly the lunch special menu. Owner(?) seemed cold and rude to us, Waited for a while. And we received soggy fried zucchini. Their pizza can be good, but I'd spend my money else where.

Ordered a pizza for myself and a calzone for my wife and I. We were impressed! Since moving to Diamond Bar, we had not found a pizza joint that we really liked. We have found it now!

We stopped by here when we were a few doors down checking out BAIT. Pizza was good, cheesy bread was decent, but the service was horrible. We asked to substitute some toppings but were quickly told no. We also asked if we can get a smaller count of wings because it was only for 2, and we were shot down again. Go here for the pizza but don't expect the service to roll out the red carpet for you.

Local pizza shop with decent prices and great food. Usually the daily deals are posted on the window, visible before heading inside. Pizza is freshly made every day; all ingredients fresh, prepared that morning. Deep dish crust is my favorite, being soft and rich, it hits the spot well. Supreme pizza is loaded with toppings, cooked to perfection. Drinks are reasonably priced, although there is a limited selection. Best snack when you're in the area is the bread. Whether it is the cheesy bread or just plain garlic bread, it's a great starter or small sized lunch addition that also makes the taste buds tingle. The main point being authenticity, this little family owned pizza place remains the best in all of Diamond Bar.

I love this place. They make your pizza fresh, even if it's a slice. Great local spot. support local businesses

Good quality pizza and delivery service from Mr. G. Recommended but waited for additional tip on top of delivery charge.

  • Chris B.

The pizza was delish. I ordered a Large pizza (pepperoni, pineapple, mushroom) with a sampler of all the different sides they have delivered to my front door. All and all, great tasting food I believe my final price was $30.00/5.00tip but I had enough food for about 6 servings. My only gripe if at all was that the person was delivering the pizza WITHOUT a pizza hot red blanket. BIG NO-NO when it comes to pizza delivery. That's fundamental, this is the ONLY reason why this isn't a 4-5star because my food was delivered luke warm AT BEST and the misses was not happy. Righfully so, too... But, friendly staff, delivered on time, just one small problem. Invest in a pizza cover please.

Great pizza. By the slice. Not frozen crust. Friendly owner. Thought the pizza was great. Can't wait to go back to try other menu items.

Great restaurant. By far better than any chain pizza store. A bit pricey though but worth it. Owner has a great attitude and is a great guy.

  • Claire L.

Pizza is ok, very little topping. Barro's is way better. The Italian owner tried to RIP ME OFF on the drink when it's supposed to be FREE according to the daily special his wife quoted me over the phone. When I told him it's supposed to be free, he immediately stopped filling up the drink. I ended up with a large soda only half way full. Although he may have saved a few cents on the cost of soda, he lost a customer.

Mr. G's pizza is the best pizza I've tasted in Cali! I don't think u can find better pizza unless u go to New York! I drive from Rancho Cucamonga ca just to eat their pizza! Too anyone who is looking for good pizza that's not going to break the bank go to MR. G's... The always have specials and best of all the pizza is amazing!!!

  • Alynne C.

I was craving pasta or pizza really bad...and i remember seeing this place. I recall that they had lunch specials and thought that would work. I got there at about 11am and they were not quite open yet, but then a lady came and said they are now open. I ordered the pasta w/meat sauce and the one slice of pizza combo. I picked tomato and mushroom pizza...didn't have to wait long before it was ready. The pasta portion was huge and the meat sauce was zesty and good. The pizza had good crust you could tell that was homemade and the toppings seemed fresh and not to mention the cheese was real cheese :) I dusted off all my food and they were nice enough to bring me water without me having to ask. I really enjoyed the food and would come back when I want to grab something for the nites i do not feel up to cooking.

My boyfriend & I stopped in here for a little lunch after our AAA representative recommended it. It was an overcast kinda day & we were the only ones in the place. I ordered a pastrami sandwhich with steak fries & my boyfriend got spagetti with meatballs & a slice of a meat lover pizza. The man at the counter was super friendly & all about accomodating us in any way possible. You get the Mom & Pop's feel here. The food wasn't greasy. The pizza crust was thin, light & quite good. The spaghetti tasted homemade & from scratch, not very rich in favor. My pastrami was perfect! Not a whole lot of greasy meatfalling out the sides making me feel like a gorging American pig. The bread was warm & crispy, light on the mustard & the pickle slices had a crunch when bitten into. Oh & I guess as of right now fries aren't on the menu but the man at the counter hooked it up to make my meal complete! It was all made before our eyes & came out delious! We'll definately pay Mr. G's another visit if ever in the area again. The only downside is there was no restroom available. ONLY downside!

  • Giao T.

Friendly service and the pizza was good, too. Eggplant parmigiana could have used a little more sauce for flavoring, but it was still good. Have to agree with everyone who commented on how good the garlic bread was!! Too bad there wasn't more... The restaurant is quaint and a little cramped, but overall very clean. The TV is a good add, but it can also keep customers in longer. With the place being small, you'd want business traffic to move in and out efficiently. Overall, recommending on food and service, for sure!

    (4)
  • Daniel C.

This place makes the best quality pizzas around. Their ingredients are top notch stuff and you can taste the excellence. Their calzones are also to die for as they stuff it with mozzarella and ricotta cheese, encased in their rich fluffy dough with garlic butter brushed on the outside. My one and only complaint is the price. $20 for 1 pizza isn't exactly something you can afford everyday, but I guess its ok for groups

    (4)
  • Michael O.

Five stars? Yeah, I went there. This place is perfect. It's undoubtably the best pizza in the area, and likely better pizza than you'd find in most other areas. The staff is REALLY nice. Mr. G himself is almost always present, and extremely friendly- greets people with a big smile as soon as they walk in the door, as if he'd been friends with 'em for years! The dining area COULD be bigger, but then again, if you're gonna have a party, you could just order takeout. The overall appearance is very similar to some of the newer and cleaner pizzerias in NYC, and I like it a lot. They have a TV where customers can watch sports if there's a game on, and the wall has interesting drawings and letters that satisfied customers send in. The pizza itself is really well-made. They take time to get the dough jussst right, and they use really fresh ingredients. I always like to take my friends in here just to impress them with my knowledge of places that serve amazing pizza. Really, there's not much more that I can say. The place is great!

Great italian food on the go. This place bridges the gap between dining in and fast food. The food is hot and fresh. Great portions. The service is exceptional and really friendly. 5 stars! one recommendation: get some more tables outside.

  • Elizabeth L.

Better than Dominos. Better than Papa Johns. Better than Pizza Hut. I usually get the Mr. G's Special to take home when I don't feel like cooking or teenagers are over at the house, and everyone enjoys it.

I remember on my road trip across the US my friends and I came upon this one place in Harlem at 1 a.m. cause we just walked through central park at night. That place was great. This place isn't as great haha, but it is good for what the west coast has to offer. I know there are probably better places on the West Coast with LA being a haven for the good stuff. But Mr. G's will always remind me of high school and the great value and taste they continually offer. I was first introduced to Mr. G's when my friend got a job there (when the place was just starting up). I thought he pizza was weird since I wasn't accustomed to that kind of pizza yet. But after lots of tries, I realized this was the place you had to go for better pizza in Diamond Bar. Because I gotta compare the pizza places in the general area with Mr. G's, the rating I is a 4. The prices are very reasonable and the people are friendly. Don't mind that one guy who says the owner just stares at you--he must not like attention. The owner is nice and if you're human--you'd try to strike a conversation with her and get to know her. VALUE and taste = 4

I stopped here on my way to my parents. I picked up a small veggie pizza. This place is pretty cheap for its prices. The pizza itself was good -- good bang for my buck. I would stop here again. I would like to try some of the other items on the menu. The owner (I assumed he owned the place) was nice. It was pretty hot outside and he offered me water while I waited for my pizza.

    (4)
  • Eli M.

From the moment you walk in, the owners wife stares you down. She just keeps staring at you, at everyone. So annoying I can't stand it. Antipasto salad is terrible. And the Pizza is not good.

    (1)
  • Matthew R.

First time there experience. Ordered a veggie pizza hold the cheese. I asked about extra vegetables like broccoli and was told by the clerk he would have to charge me extra. I guess broccoli costs more than cheese per pound. He could have said since you don't want cheese, I won't charge you extra. Also ordered large pepperoni and was good tasting but lots of bare spots without pepperoni. Should have added more so I wasn't disappointed. Buffalo wings were not sauced enough for my liking. I would return but would request more toppings. If I wanted a cheese pizza that's what I would have ordered.

Delicious pizza 4 stars only because there is no bathroom

  • Matt D.

I went into this place and what a disappointment. Nothing like New York at all. I spend quite a bit of time back east and it's nothing at all like anything I've had back there. They try to skimp and their sandwiches, well I've had better from the roach coach. I went when they first opened and again 6 months later just to give them time to settle in. It didn't make a difference. If you're willing to take a little drive, give Capri a try up in Covina on San Bernardino just west of Grand Ave. Trust me.

  • Jacqueline D.

One of the main things this place has going for it is that it's extremely clean which is a huge plus in my book and the service was very friendly. We had some salad which was nothing fancy but it was good. I ordered a pizza and there was WAY too much cheese on it. It was good for one slice but eating anymore was a little tough with all the grease. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and he ate it all up - so I assume he liked it. I wish Yelp allowed 1/2 stars because I would probably give this place 2.5, in between A-Ok and Meh-I've had better.

  • Steven M.

Mr. G's has a very delicious Korean Pizza. They buy bulgogi from Super Hmart a few doors down and put a lot of garlic on this amazing pizza. I have not tried any other pizza on their menu because this is a fantastic pizza. One time, however, the lady at the register gave us free garlic rolls while we wait. They too were very good. I would suggest you try them as well.

    (5)
  • J L.

First of all, their staff is super nice. IMO NYC = thin crust pizza. Crispy on the bottom, but able to fold over. Their crust was thin, but bubbly? I've been to NY a few times and I don't recall a bubbly type of crust. Also, the crust tasted like it was brushed with garlic butter? I liked it a lot. Toppings and sauce were fresh. All in all, it wasn't what I expected, but a very good rich tasting pizza. 3.5 stars

    (3)
  • Steph N.

Good food but pricey. However, one time I had a bad experience and I detest this place a little for it. I got uber oilly zuchini fries that weren't ever crispy and the service was bad, guy was giving me attitude when I asked about the menu and pricing.

  • Ryan M.

I randomly found this place by mistake looking for another restaurant. I looked up the reviews on here and it looked good. My first clue should have been the place was dead at lunch time on a Wednesday. I was the only customer in there. I ordered the lunch special with a piece of pizza and a salad for 5.50. The salad was wilted iceberg and with a shred of carrot. When I received the pizza it reminded of Digrnorno pizza from the frozen food section. Overall not a good experience.

Okay so due to the fact that I have yet to find decent italian food in Diamond Bar that delivers I give 4 stars....the food wasn't bad, the garlic bread was the best thing, my son loved the pizza and my husband had a stromboli that he enjoyed as well. my sausage and peppers was just okay, the marina was a bit greasy, I had to ad parm and red pepper cause the flavor was very mild which im sure some enjoy. over all we'd definately eat here again.

*fist in air* Finally! Located in the Country Hills Town Center we got New York style pizza....in Diamond Bar! Get outta heeyah! It's true ladies and gents and true to their name the food really does taste like NY pizza! Large thin slices, extra gooey cheese and the sauce is unique- Dominos and Pizza Hut don't have a chance. They also have cold sandwiches, calzones, salads and pastas but I've never tried em. I had the spaghetti twice but the sauce was watery and bland. Maybe it's supposed to be "natural"? Right now they have a special: buy one small cheese pizza get the second one free for only $3.95! Two people can share one small so that's a total deal =) They also got pepperoni slices for 85 cents each! You're welcome *grin*

Definitely the best pizza in Diamond Bar. I'm not going to compare to NY or Chicago, etc because we are in Diamond Bar and this is the best!

I've been to this pizza spot about 3 times. My cousin who moved down to diamond bar recommended it to me. Its a small place. The people there are very friendly. You can tell they take customer service very serious. It's a family owned restaurant. I went with my cousin and we got a "supreme" pizza. Took it home and it was delicious. The vegetables tasted fresh, they had a crisp to it and you can taste the flavor of each pepper, onion, olive, etc. It's New York styled so it IS thin crust. Not in the sense of thin and crispy. But go try it out and im sure youll love it. I also went in with a date and shared a small mushroom pizza (10 inches). It was delicious AND filling. We were debating to get more than that but that small pizza was enough. After trying this pizza, no other pizza really compares in quality. This spot and little caesers (its a classic!) are now my favorite pizza places.

Finally a good pizza place in the area. They usually don't last long in this area and it takes years to get another one. Mr. G is a nice guy and his place is too. Great pizza and their other items (sandwiches, pasta, salads) are good too. They brush garlic butter on the crust which adds a nice kick. Prices are good, less than you would expect. If you're in the area please support Mr. G's.

Probably the best pizza in Diamond Bar. Competitive pricing and way better than all of the suburban chains we have around here. Dining in with groups is difficult because of the small dining area.

I am newer in town and came across Mr. G's. Love this place and the fact that it is not a chain. They have great prices and tasty pizzas. They also have your order ready in a reasonable amount of time. Plus the staff is super friendly.

Best pizza around! I think that the supreme pizza is the best here. Super fresh and super tasty...especially the crust! If pizza isn't your thing try the calzone. It won't even fit on your plate.
